Consultancy

Dirk has considerable experience in advising international bodies and national governments on penal policy and in turning these policies into reports and draft legal instruments.

He recently completed converting the 2015 Nelson Mandela Rules on the Treatment of Prisoners into a Model Prison Act for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.

Currently he is working for the Council of Europe as an scientific expert on a new Draft Recommendation regarding the Promotion of the Mental Health and the Management of the Mental Disorders of Prisoners and Probationers.
